Vor Amiens treffen wir das vermutlich
hässlichste Rundfahrtschiff Europas, natürlich genau in einer sehr engen
Kurve auf dem schnell fliessenden Fluss Just before getting to Amiens we
encounter the possibly ugliest trip boat in all Europe. And we meet it in a
very tight bend on the quite fast flowing river |

Amiens ist eine sehr schöne und
interessante Stadt, nur die meist betrunkenen Nachtbuben vermiesen etwas die
Idylle Amiens is a very nice and interesting
city. Unfortunately what comes out of the late night bar next to the dock is
not so plaisant |

An der Somme gibt’s auch an 2 Orten
was für Dampfbahnfreunde. Hier die Bahn an der Baye de la Somme am Atlantik Along the Somme river 2 locations

Am Ende der kanalisierten Somme ist
die gezeitische Somme-Bucht, die bei Ebbe fast komplett trockenfällt At the end of the canalised Somme
River the Somme Bay falls almost completely dry at ebb tide |

Die Somme wieder zu Berg, vorbei an
einem Herrenhaus kommen wir zur 2. Dampfbahn bei Froissy.Die Bahn war Teil
eines ganzen Systems von Schmalspurbahnen für Transporte im 1. Weltkrieg We cruise upriver again, pass a
rather splendid house with its own parc and get to the second steam railway of the aerea.
This railway was part of an extensive network of narrow gauge railways built
for transports in the first world war |

Böötler die wir unterwegs antreffen
sind fast ausnahmslos sehr freundliche, aufgestelle Individuen. Sie trinken
auch gerne mal eins... Boaters are generally very friendly,
happy people but they need a drink every once in a while |

Via Conflans Saint Honorine treffen
wir in Paris ein und fahren durch die Stadtkanäle bis zum Hafen Arsenal beim

Ein Abstecher führt uns die Scarpe zu
Berg bis nach Arras. Der Fluss wird wenig befahren und wir haben dauernd die
Schraube voller Gras A detour takes us up the Scarpe River
to Arras. The river does not see much navigation and is full of weeds |

Etwas weiter zweigen wir ab auf die
wunderschöne Somme. Wir treffen auch wieder unsere neuen Freunde Robin und
Ron und ihr Schiff Tiara On the Somme river we meet again the
boat Tiara and our new friends Robin and Ron |

Mit dem Dinghy, einer Flasche
Putzessig und viel Einsatz wird der Bootsrumpf geputzt Using the dinghy, a bottle of
cleaning vinigar and a lot of elbow grease I get the hull clean again |

Nach einer guten Prise Organisation
wagen wir uns zum ersten Mal an eine Nachtrundfahrt durch Paris mit dem
eigenen Boot: Fantastisch! Paris by Night by La Vie. After some
organisation and timing studies we try it for the first time: Fantastic! |

Treffen mit vermutlich grössten
Modellschiff der Welt. Im Massstab 1:8 ist die Majesty of the Seas noch immer
30 Meter lang und bewohnbar! Meeting with the worlds possibly
biggest boat model. At 1 in 8 scale the Majesty of the Seas is still 30
meters long and has cabins to live in! |

Das Schwimmdock auf der Flusseite der
Seeschleuse ist gratis und schön gelegen. Es hat auch wenig Schiffe, so, dass
man gut ein Plätzchen findet The floating pontoon at the river
side of the sea lock is free, very nice and conveniantly situated. There are
only few boats about and it‘s easy to find a mooring spot |
